1. CUT TAXES AND STATE SPENDING
  • Deliver $1.75 billion in tax relief
  • Eliminate unfunded State mandates
  • Force Albany to live within its means by requiring a 2/3 majority vote for any tax increase
  • Eliminate "back door" borrowing
  • Reduce the corporate income tax on small businesses
  • Prohibit Albany from issuing new debt except for capital improvements backed by a stable revenue stream
  • Eliminate the New York State estate tax
  • Fight for the 88th District's fair share of State funding for education
2. IMPROVE HEALTHCARE
  • Provide access to insurance to 5.6 million uninsured New Yorkers
  • Permit private insurers to offer new, affordable policies to small businesses and individuals
  • Make it easier for businesses to offer insurance to their contractors and part-time workers
  • Enable individuals to purchase health insurance that is portable
  • Eliminate $4.5 billion in Medicaid fraud, abuse and waste
3. MAKE EDUCATION BETTER FOR ALL
  • Restore $73 million in Restoration Aid to School Districts
  • Increase state funding for Teacher Professional Development from $31 to $51 million annually
  • Reward our teachers with Teacher Performance Bonuses
  • Launch a $5 million Light House Scholar Program for outstanding students in the 88th District to provide four-year collect scholarships in teaching, upon graduation, the scholar will teach at an at risk New York urban or rural public school
  • Assure that costs for the Light House Scholar Program will be shared between the New York State Department of Education and the Business Community
4. MAKE OUR BRONX RIVER PARKWAY FLOOD FREE & SAFE
  • Secure funding from the NYS Transporation Department and Federal Transportation Department to design an enhanced drainage system to prevent the flooding
  • Collaborate with all environmental groups to ensure that improvements don't interfere with nature
